Hi, I’m Susan

I live in Baldwinsville, NY where I provide therapy for women from throughout New York State in my home or via tele-health.

More about my approach…

Life can be so tough, and re-establishing balance in a post-pandemic, uncertain, and ever-changing world is challenging. It’s even tougher when you question your worth, wonder how you will make it through another day, and feel as if your reserves are spent. I know you’d like to feel on top of the world, full of spunk and vigor, sharing laughs and giggles, and jumping out of bed each morning to discover the joy awaiting a new day. Therapy can help!

I believe there is always hope. No situation is permanent, just like the weather; your life course can change tomorrow. No issue is pervasive, but you may need help setting clear and effective boundaries. And, not everything is personal, though you may feel the whole-world is out to defeat you and your luck never changes. That’s why I’m eager to meet you and help you unravel truth from lies, untether yourself from unrealistic expectations, untangle yourself from unhealthy relationships, and transform your life.

I will give you space to process your life. I’ll listen attentively to discover the person with-in attempting to find freedom. I’ll provide a sounding board for your dreams. Ultimately, I’ll help you hear your heart speak.

My approach is compassionate, faith inspiring, and directive. I combine cognitive behavioral therapy and strength-focused therapy with spiritual disciplines to help you manage your life and relationships, overcome your fears, and lift your spirits. Together, we’ll explore ways to reset your life course, restore your energy, and renew your hope so that you can live your best life forward.

Reset. Renew. Restore

More about my education and training…

After graduating from Cornell University with a BS and MPS from the School of Hotel Administration, I spent the first decade of my career in the field of hospitality operations and corporate strategic planning. Then, eager to impact lives more than corporate profits, I enrolled in Syracuse University’s Marriage and Family Therapy program. While the name implies training in treatment of marriage and family issues, a better working description would be therapy for individuals in context of relationships. The systemic approach best aligns with my beliefs that no one is an island to themselves.

I completed my clinical training at SUNY Family Medicine Human Sexuality Program and at Health Services Medical Group (HSMG, also known as PHP Health Centers), where I was later employed prior to branching out into solo practice.  Upon the birth of my daughter, I closed my practice to enjoy the long-awaited joy of motherhood to its fullest. Now, upon my daughter’s graduation, it is with great joy that I return to the field of therapy! Life has many twists and turns; we never know what lies ahead but there’s always hope!

In my spare time, I enjoy teaching water fitness at the local YMCA, gardening, spiritual pursuits, and entertaining friends and family.

Professional Affiliation:  Licensed, Clinical Fellow, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
